The Trips

#OnetouchLive Dandora

By on February 20, 2017

Insecurity. Muggings. Theft. Garbage. That’s what Dandora is associated with. In an attempt to see if this is all that this 40-year-old settlement in Nairobi’s Eastlands District is all about, we ventured there last January under the guidance of a team from Dandora Hip Hop City. (more…)

#OnetouchLive Aberdares

By on November 30, 2016

From every trip we make, two main factors determine if a trip is successful: the photos, and the camaraderie. For Aberdare, it was the latter. Not that we didn’t find enough beauty to make great photos, no. It’s just that this trip was full of many great moments in between taking photos that made it all the more exciting for us all. (more…)

#OnetouchLive Magadi

By on October 11, 2016

We never seem to get enough of Magadi. This was our third trip there in as many years and we believe we’ll still return there next year. If you’ve been there, we’re sure you know why. Despite the heat and semi arid landscapes that mean very few people call it home, a beauty that baffles many make Magadi a magnet for those seeking a quick adventure away from Nairobi. (more…)

#OnetouchLive Eastlando

By on June 28, 2016

Muggings. Carjackings. Thuggery.

These are just some of the adjectives used to describe Nairobi’s Eastlands.

But is this really all that happens in Eastlands? We sought to find out. (more…)

Mfangano Island’s beauty and the warmth of it’s people had been calling on us for a while. We responded towards the end of May and decided to spend a couple of days there, immersing ourselves in the culture, lifestyles and food of Mfangano’s inhabitants. (more…)

#OnetouchLive – Ngong Road Forest

By on March 21, 2016

It’s not a place many would like to visit because of the stories of carjackings and muggings that have happened here. These were also our objection statements when we were invited to pay a visit by one of the Ngong Road Forest Association members. In her defence and that of the forest, she told us there’s parts that are completely fenced off ensuring safety for those visiting. Convinced, we got our cameras ready for the ‘myth debunking tour’. #OnetouchLive Amboseli – The Return

By on September 22, 2015

Amboseli National Park is a place to behold with beauty that surrounds it at every corner. With the breath taking view of mount Kilimanjaro on your way there to herds of elephants greeting at the gate … It is a place to behold.

We had been to this park previously sometime in 2014 and it was time for a return trip this time we wanted to stay inside the camp such that we had no limitations in time when exiting and entering the park during game drives. (more…)

#OnetouchLive Meru

By on July 31, 2015

Many safaris and game drives are planned every day in Kenya. Mostly to Mara, Nairobi, Nakuru and Amboseli. Very few to Meru National Park. Yet this far-flung wilderness park holds a beauty that shouldn’t be missed by anyone who loves being in the wild. (more…)
